Can you use your contractors license outside California?

Each state has different licensing requirements. You cannot use your California contractors license in other states; however, you may use your work experience in California for your application. We have helped California contractors get licensed all over the country.

In particular, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah, have a special Reciprocity Program with California. Upon meeting specific requirements, a licensed California contractor may waive the corresponding trade exam in the reciprocal state. Note that the law exam cannot be waived. (B&P Code §7065.4)
